Introduction
HTM is the public transport company of, and for, the Hague region. Deeply rooted in the local community, HTM is a familiar and trusted presence in the region with its trams, light rail vehicles and buses. With more than 2,000 employees, HTM operates a significant share of collective passenger transport by rail and road in The Hague and the surrounding region.

About the project
Within HTM, the understanding grew that data — and in particular the correlation and analysis of it — is essential to the further development of the transport company. This ambition was reflected in HTM's future spearheads of “Digital, Data and Analytics”. The strategy called for a cloud-native data environment that is scalable, capable of handling multiple data types, and able to easily unlock sources for both strategic analysis and the day-to-day operational control and steering of trams, light rail vehicles and buses.
As preferred cloud and data partner, Digital Survival Company built a cloud-based data hub for HTM based on cloud-native Azure data technology. This environment was, of course, also hosted within the Azure Landing Zone that Digital Survival Company designed and built for HTM.
