Introduction
In 2011, OutSmart took the bold step of developing its own platform for digital work orders, enabling companies to finally leave the paper version behind. Since the launch of its first version in 2012, the digital work order application has grown into an indispensable tool for field service companies worldwide.
The growth of both the successful SaaS product and the company itself called for a new, state-of-the-art public cloud infrastructure. OutSmart was looking for a partner that would bring not only the necessary technical expertise, but also the vision and speed to meet future needs.
About the project
With the need for that new cloud infrastructure established, OutSmart began its search for the right partner. Digital Survival Company emerged as the ideal partner for the future. Amid ongoing projects, the journey began to replace the existing infrastructure. After a successful initial phase, we committed ourselves to building an entirely new cloud environment and migrating to it seamlessly. AWS was recommended as the ideal cloud platform, based on requirements such as scalability and agility.
We shared a clear vision of how cloud services would strengthen OutSmart's value chain. These services were delivered through a DevOps way of working by a multidisciplinary team (MDT), fully relieving OutSmart so it could focus on its core business. The MDT continuously monitored the availability, security, integrity, capacity, and performance of the platform, allowing OutSmart to benefit from optimal operation.
The services delivered for OutSmart required deep, combined knowledge of AWS and related services. The entire migration process was focused on rapid development, value creation, fast incident recovery, and controlled change management. All processes were monitored by expert Survivors with the right skills and mindset.
In addition, we built a landing zone, built and migrated several RDS databases, and created a customer monitoring dashboard. These additions have expanded OutSmart's capabilities and improved its operational efficiency. We also carry out regular changes, so the environment keeps growing bigger, more professional, and more secure.
The successful cloud migration was driven by a clear vision, the right knowledge and expertise, and effective communication. Digital Survival Company now continues to manage the new AWS cloud infrastructure, fully relieving OutSmart of that responsibility. Both parties look back on a positive and successful collaboration.
