Why Cloud Architecture?

Cloud Architecture is the technical design of a cloud environment: how components are organized, how systems exchange data with each other, how security and governance are safeguarded, and how the environment scales and is managed. It's the translation of a strategic choice into a concrete, executable design.

Without architecture, a cloud environment often grows step by step until no one can oversee how everything fits together anymore. A well-thought-out design prevents that: it defines how systems work together, how access is arranged, and how the environment can grow, aligned with the applications running on it and tested for suitability for AI applications such as Copilot or Azure OpenAI.

    From strategy to technical design

    We translate the cloud strategy or Healthscan outcomes into a concrete design, with guiding principles such as cloud-native, secure-by-design, and AI-ready as starting points.

    Landing zone as the foundation

    We build on self-developed blueprints for Azure and AWS: an automated baseline environment with network segmentation, identity management, logging, and governance as standard, defined in Infrastructure as Code so the environment rolls out predictably and changes can be made without deviations.

    Application and workload architecture

    For each application, we determine the most suitable architecture form: sometimes containers, sometimes services that automatically scale without dedicated server management (serverless), aligned with requirements for availability, performance, security, and cost.

    Network, identity, and security

    Network segmentation, zero trust access, and monitoring via Microsoft Sentinel are an integral part of the design, consistent across the entire environment.

    AI-readiness built in

    We explicitly test the design for AI-readiness, so data classification, access rights, and governance are in order before Copilot or Azure OpenAI goes live.

FAQ

  • Do we need a cloud strategy first before we can have an architecture designed?

    A cloud strategy is a strong foundation, but not always a hard requirement. If the direction is already clear, we can start directly with the architecture. If an overarching plan is missing, we'll flag that and advise determining it first, or we combine both in a single project.

  • Do you also design for multi-cloud environments?

    Yes. We design environments on Azure, on AWS, and in combination. For multi-cloud, we ensure consistent governance, security, and monitoring across both platforms, so complexity stays manageable.

  • Do you also take over the build and management afterward?

    Yes. After the Design phase, we can guide the Build phase and the Run phase if desired. We can take care of the entire chain or deliver only the Design phase as input for an internal or external build team.
